2008 Summer Science Adventures Camps

Science Adventure Camps offer children the chance to develop hands-on learning, creative problem solving and discovery in a stimulating and fun environment. Our location in beautiful Alton Baker Park provides a living laboratory for exploration and the chance to combine indoor and outdoor activities.

Our commitment is to provide:
• Smaller camp class experience (maximum enrollment 14)
• Professional, committed staff who are here to engage, excite and inspire children toward a
lifelong love of learning
• A nurturing, inquisitive environment where all questions are good questions

NEW PROGRAMS IN 2008!

Investigators Camp - Our favorite pre-K science fun is now being offered as a five day camp. Investigators are inquisitive campers, ages 3-5, who will enjoy hands-on activities, sensory experiences, snacks and more! We request that parents stay during the camp if their child is not toilet trained. Be sure to register early for best savings. Class sizes limited to 10. For space reasons, children not registered, including siblings, will not be able to attend this camp.

Before Care - Now campers entering grades K-8 can receive supervised care before their camps begin in the morning. This program runs from 8:00-9:00 am all week long and is ideal for parents who need to drop off children before the check-in time. Before care attendees will make crafts, play games and explore our exhibit hall with a Science Factory instructor. Campers registering for before care with lunch care and after care programs will receive a discounted rate for the three together.

Just a few examples of some of the comments we've received about our Summer Science Adventures Camps:
Photo: Cardboard Boats
"My two ten year old boys really enjoyed the computer fun and games and water wonders classes this summer. The University students that led a pond session were spectacular. My boys looked forward to going to the Science Factory camp every morning. Thanks for providing my children with a quality, fun experience this 2007 summer. "

"I thought that my 8th Grade son was not going to be happy with any camp this summer. I was wrong. He really enjoyed the Digital Photography class and it has stimulated him to use the computer at home, to create masterpieces. Thank you for providing this current technology for him to enjoy."

"This has been great. Usually, my son doesn't want to do any camps, and he can't wait to get here every day!"

"Our first camp in Eugene! Great instructors, interesting curriculums. We attended U-C Berkeley Lawrence Hall of Science camps last summer and yours were just as enjoyable! Good job!"

"The camp was wonderful! My child learned a great deal and the subject matter was great, lots of facts and activities. We will be looking forward to next summer! Please keep up the good work. Thank you for a great camp experience!"

"Our child always comes home happy, energetic and enthused after this camp in comparison to other camps. It was his favorite!"
