• Dinosaur Fossil Dig Prices: $95 per party; $85 for Science Factory members: The party package includes the first 12 children. Adult chaperones are free. Additional children are $5 each, up to 16 maximum. There is a maximum of 24 guests allowed.
Hands-on Science Activity Themes 2012 A Science Factory Educator will lead your group through one of five awesome activities! You choose the topic and we'll provide age-appropriate learning through exploration and discovery! Choose one of the following activities:
YEAR ROUND
Bubbles Galore (all ages) Turn backyard fun into science with our Bubbles Galore party. Learn why a bubble is round; make square bubbles, cloud bubbles, and bubbles out of everyday items. This is a great outdoor active birthday party option for all ages. StarStruck! (ages 7 & up) 
Calling all space fans! This party's mission is to explore the night sky inside our planetarium during the "Up in the Sky" show. You'll learn all about the stars, constellations and planets you can see that very night. Extreme Experiments (all ages)  Fizz, bubble, ooze or pop? In this party, we'll select some amazing mind-boggling experiments that are just right for you and your guests. These crazy concoctions can create anything from insta-worms to magic snow!Themed Parties (all ages) Having an ocean themed party or a train party? Why not tailor your party activity to your theme or choose from other interesting topics. You will work with our birthday coordinator to develop a personalized birthday party activity. SPRING/SUMMER  Blast Off! (ages 5 & up)3,2,1 Blast off! Each guest will make and launch their very own bottle rocket that they can take home. You'll be amazed at just how high they go! A great outdoor party! Insects! (ages 6 & up, weather permitting) Enjoy the outdoors by looking closely at what surrounds us - insects. First, see what an insect sees, and learn about different bugs. Then we will head outside to collect insects from the area surrounding the Science Factory and look at them up close. FALL/WINTER Captivating Kaleidoscopes (all ages) Kaleidoscopes have captivated audiences, young and old, for years. Today you can make your own kaleidocope to take home with you. While having fun you will be learning about reflections and symmetry. Dinosaur Fossil Dig (ages 4+, some party size limitations apply) Do you love dinosaurs? Ever wanted to be a paleontologist? Well, come test your knowledge and skill at our fossil dig! Learn about different types of fossils, go on a fossil dig to discover bones or trilobites, or make Littlefoot from The Land Before Time. Activities vary based on age group. Facilitation of Party  The hosting adult will facilitate the party. A Science Factory Educator will facilitate the hands-on science activity.Decorations You may decorate the room to your heart's desire with freestanding decorations, tablecloths, banners, streamers, balloons and signs. The party host is responsible for setting up and taking down decorations, as well as disposing of all garbage. Food and Drinks All food and drink must stay in the birthday party room. Room Capacity The Birthday Party Room can seat up to 24 guests at tables. A party with total attendance (kids & adults) larger than that size may find that they are cramped for space. Museum Rules The party host should make arrangements to have adequate adult supervision on hand. Party guests must be supervised at all times, except during the hands-on science activity. There must be at least one adult in attendance for every ten children. Access to the Birthday Party Room You may enter the party room before your scheduled party time ONLY if the room will not be in use at that time & prior arrangements have been made with the Birthday Party Coordinator. Please promptly vacate the party room at the end of your scheduled time. Any late departures will be assessed a $25 fee. Please note: Your two-hour room rental period includes set-up time, party time and clean-up time. The next party group will be scheduled to arrive at the same time you are scheduled to vacate the room, so we ask that you follow our schedule closely to ensure an easy transition between parties. Housekeeping Because of our tight birthday schedule, we ask that you please leave the birthday party room in the same condition as you find it upon entry. * remove or discard all leftover food · wipe down table and counter surfaces · return folding chairs to storage space · dispose of your trash & recycling in the proper receptacles provided in the room You will be assessed a $50 fee for not properly cleaning the room of trash and decorations. To ensure that no cleaning fee will be assessed, please check in with the birthday party supervisor for your party prior to leaving. Last Party of the Day If you are hosting the 2pm-4pm party, please remember that the Science Factory closes at 4:00 each day. Your party must leave the museum at 4pm. The museum's doors are locked at closing so if you need to make multiple trips to the car, please alert a Science Factory employee so that you will not be locked out. Cancellation Policy * A 100% refund will be given if the party is canceled at least four weeks prior to the party date. * A 50% refund will be given if the party is canceled at least three weeks prior to the party date. * A 25% refund will be given if the party is canceled at least one week prior to the party date. * No refund will be given if the party is canceled 7 days or less prior to the party date. |
