Birthday Parties The Science Factory is a great place to have your child's birthday! Our birthdays are jam-packed with fun for two full hours. Choice of one hands-on science activity led by a Science Factory educatorPrices: The cost is $95, or $80 for Science Factory members, for a two-hour party. The party package includes the first 12 children. Adult chaperones are free. Additional children are $5 each, up to 16 maximum. There is a maximum of 24 guests (adults and children) allowed. Please see our complete list of policies and procedures below, also provided with your booking confirmation. Parties are available on Saturdays & Sundays from 11 AM - 1 PM and 2 PM - 4 PM . You will have an additional 15 mintues before and after the party for set-up and clean-up. Other times may be available upon special request. You choose the topic and we'll provide age-appropriate learning through exploration and discovery! Choose one of the following activities: Blast Off!** Get ready for high-flying fun! Each guest will make a rocket from a simple water bottle, then launch it high into the sky with the power of air pressure. You'll be amazed at just how high they go! Brilliant Biology 
DNA is the code in every living cell that leads to life as we know it. In this party, you'll attempt to extract DNA from fruits, vegetables, or even your own cells! Guests will get their very own sample of DNA to take home.Bubbles Galore 
There's so much science to learn from soap and water! You can choose to make art with bubbles or watch a chemical reaction cause a geyser of bubbles. For the grand finale, see how super-cool dry ice can mix with bubble soap to create smoky bubbles you can catch in your hand!Captivating Kaleidoscopes Have fun with colorful reflections and take home a fun new toy! You'll learn how mirrors can reflect light to create dazzling patterns. Using some mirrors and other simple items, you and your guests will make your own kaleidoscopes to take home. Extreme Experiments** Fizz, bubble, ooze, or pop? In this party, you get to choose from an array of mind-boggling experiments that will teach you about chemistry and physics. Make instant worms, magic snow, and even a giant soda geyser!  Starstruck!Calling all space fans! This party's mission is to explore the night sky in our Exploration Dome. All party guests will receive a ticket to our "Seasonal Stargazing" show, where you'll learn all about the stars, constellations and planets you can see that very night. Other party themes may be accomodated based on the availability of staff and materials. Please contact us for more information. ** Some activities in this theme take place outdoors and are not available in inclement weather.
Guests Parties are restricted to a maximum of 24 people (adults & children, including the host family and all guests) total. Due to materials constraints and the size of the room, there is an absolutely maximum of 16 children (including the birthday child & siblings) who may participate in the Hands-On Science Activity. Additional children will be invited to enjoy the other portions of the birthday party or may watch the activities in the room, so long as the room occupancy remains 24 people or fewer. A charge of $5 per child will be added for additional children over the 12 included in the initial reservation. All guests should sign in at the front desk. Starstruck! Exploration Dome Parties Keep in mind that there is NO LATE SEATING in the Exploration Dome once the show has started. Visitors may leave during a show, but REENTRY IS NOT PERMITTED. These rules are in place and enforced to ensure both a quality experience and safety for all visitors. A group restroom check/visit before the show is always a good idea. Decorations You may decorate the room with freestanding decorations, tableclothes, banners, streamers, balloons and signs. Please do not use duct tape on any surface, or Scotch tape on the whiteboard. The party host is responsible for setting up and taking down decorations, as well as disposing of all garbage in the provided trash receptacles. Please recycle paper, cans, etc. in the blue recycle bin provided. Food & Drinks You are welcome to bring food and drinks for the party. Please be aware, however, that food and drinks are not allowed in the Exhibit Hall or Exploration Dome at any time. Room Capacity The Birthday Party Room can seat up to 16 child guests at the two half-circle tables. Additional adult seats can be brought in as needed. The fire marshal has set the maximum occupancy of the Birthday Party Room at 24 people (adults & children). The party host will be assessed a $50 fee if the party continuously exceeds this capacity. Parties with more than 22 people will find that they are cramped for space. During the Hands-On Science Activity portion of the birthday, adult chaperones may wish to step out of the Birthday Party Room and observe the party fromt he window in the Museum. Chaperones The party host should make arrangements to have adequate adult supervision on hand. There must be at least 1 adult in attendance for every 6 children. Party guests should be supervised at all times; this includes direct supervision in the Exhibit Hall. Access to the Birthday Party Room Backdoor access! Party hosts may park one car in the staff parking lot located on the east side of the Museum. Party hosts may access the party room 15 minutes prior to the start of the party to begin set up and will have a 15 minute clean-up & check out time after the party. You may enter the party room before you scheduled party time ONLY if the room will not be in use at that time AND prior arrangements have been made with Science Factory's Birthday Party Coordinator. Housekeeping After your party, please: You will be billed a $50 fee for not properly cleaning the room of trash and decorations. Please help us keep our space clean! Cancellation & Postponement Policy * A 100% refund will be given if the party is canceled at least four weeks prior to the party date. * A 50% refund will be given if the party is canceled at least three weeks prior to the party date. * A 25% refund will be given if the party is canceled at least one week prior to the party date. * No refund will be given if the party is canceled 7 days or less prior to the party date. * Parties may be canceled and rescheduled for a later date at least three weeks prior to original party date without penalty. Parties that are rescheduled less than three weeks prior to the original date will be assessed a $30 postponement fee.
