Ham Radio Saturdays Ham Radio Saturdays

Discover amateur radio. This winter and spring the Valley Radio Club operates the Science Factory ham radio station to show visitors how to get on the airwaves. Since its inception, the Science Factory ham radio station has spoken to ham operators on every continent except Antarctica - from Argentina to Iceland, Morocco to New Zealand, and Russia to Acension Island. Some special conversations we've had include speaking to ham radio stations on the USS Midway, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and at the Route 66 commemorative station in Flagstaff, AZ.

All Museum members are welcome to attend our annual meeting in the Exploration Dome. We will be electing the Class of 2016 to the Board of Trustees, honoring volunteers, reviewing the year and getting previews of upcoming programs.
Farm Food Festival Farm Food Festival

Join us for a day where we can play with our food! Plant vegetable seeds and learn what makes them grow. Explore the processes of preparing and preserving food after it's been harvested. Catch grain presentations by Camas Country Mill and see Science Factory educators demonstrate how to make butter and cheese. We'll even meet a few furry and feathered farm friends! This is the last day to donate non-perishable food items to Food for Lane County for a chance to win great raffle prizes. Winners picked at 4 p.m. The Farm Food Festival is generously sponsored by Dari-Mart.

$6 admission, $5 seniors, $3 Science Factory members. Admission includes Exhibit Hall and Exploration Dome.

Join us for a celebration of science, technology, and the do-it-yourself spirit! Oregon's first Mini Maker Faire is back for a third year of creative fun. Meet makers, hackers, artists, hobbyists, and do-it-yourself enthusiasts of all types ready to share their experiments and projects with you. With robots, rockets, arts and crafts, and even 3D printers, there's something amazing around every corner.

Discover the world of amateur radio! The Valley Radio Club will set up a remote radio station in front of the Science Factory, going on the air with thousands of other radio operators around the country for a national Field Day party! Inside the Science Factory, you can also check out our permanent, volunteer-run amateur radio station. Members of our local radio club will operate the station and show you how to get on the air.
