Tdap Immunization Day
Saturday, May 11
1:00 - 2:00 pm
Adults over 19, without health insurance.
All adults are recommended by the ACIP(Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices) to get one lifetime Tdap dose if they have not had it as a teen. This should be done as soon as possible if needed, regardless of last Td booster. Thereafter, a Td booster is recommended every 10 years.
Science Factory has partnered with Lane County Health Department to offer uninsured adults the opportunity ro recieve the recommended Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis/Whooping Cough) Booster vaccine free of cost on May 11.
To participate in this special offer, call Visitor Services to provide your name, birth date, and contact telephone number by Wednesday May 8 at 541-682-7888. Vaccinations are limited, so call today!

Science Factory Annual Members Meeting

This year the Annual Member Meeting takes place on Tuesday, May 14 at 6 p.m. in the Exploration Dome. All Museum members are welcome to attend. We will be electing the class of 2015 to the Board of Trustees, honoring volunteers, and reviewing the year.

Farm Food Festival

All ages/Drop in program. Included with Exhibit Hall admission.
Join us for a day where we can play with our food! Plant vegetable seeds and learn what makes them grow. Catch demonstrations of butter and cheese making that you can try at home. We'll even meet a few furry and feathered farm friends.

$75 per seat before May 19. Price increases to $85 on May 20.
Science Factory sustains a tradition of presenting science & technology trailblazers to the community with an Annual Scientifically Speaking Gala Event this May. Join us for a delightful evening including a delicious seasonal dinner, friendly competition in both silent & live auctions, and old-time music provided by the Old Lost Neuron Ramblers. Local wines are included in the price of a ticket, and a cash bar is also available. Master of Ceremonies is KVAL-TV Chief Meterologist, Candace Campos.
This year we welcome Guest of Honor Dr. Micahel E. Mann, a prominent climate scientist who will talk about his research as it relates to discourse and policy.

Meet makers, hackers, artists, hobbyists, and do-it-yourself enthusiasts from all types ready to share their experiements and projects with you. From frisbee-filling robots to hand-crafted shoes to a roadster that gets 100 miles per gallon, there's something amazing around every corner.

Valley Radio Club Field Day

Discover the world of amateur radio! On June 22, the Valley Radio Club will set up a remote radio station in front of the Science Factory, going on air with thousands of other radio operators around the country for a national Field Day party! June 22 will also mark the grand opening of a brand-new permanent ham radio station inside the Science Factory. Members of our local radio club will operate the station and show you how to get on the air. |
